Can Donald Trump save America?
Let’s review the status of the union from a bipartisan perspective; inarguably, people are having a difficult time finding jobs, both states and the federal government are in a continual fight over how to distribute what little money remains in the government coffers, and we have military operations continuing in three middle-eastern countries.
So, what kind of president does the United States need to address the problems at hand and take care of business? According to Donald Trump, we need a “fun” president and (of course) Donald Trump is just that fun kind of president we need. Don’t be too concerned that Donald Trump is throwing his hat in the race prematurely—the mogul is waiting at least until “Celebrity Apprentice” is over. I can only hope that he uses the same kind of prioritization when (and if) he chooses to run for the oval office.
The pressure on Donald Trump NOT to run from his employer NBC (according to Donald Trump) is enormous. He claims:
“NBC is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on me not to do it because I have the most successful show on NBC and one of the most successful shows on television,” he said. “And the last thing they want me to do is leave ‘The Apprentice.’ So unlike a lot of other candidates that give up nothing, I give up a lot.”
So, basically, if Donald Trump makes the decision to run, he will be giving up his TV show. Poor Donald, I guess that is one of the tough choices that billionaires have to make. I can hear him now: Should I run for President or should I keep hobnobbing with the likes of Gary Busey on "Celebrity Apprentice"?
Donald Trump is also boasting that he could whip both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama in the primary and general elections respectively, but admits that Barack Obama would be a little tougher to beat.
For some strange reason, Donald Trump seems to have no idea that the United States economy is in tatters; he bragged to Mitt Romney the other day that his [Donald’s] net worth was much, much higher than Mitt Romney’s paltry $200 million. Trump claims that Forbes has estimated his wealth at around $2.7 billion, which truthfully puts him out of touch with 99.99% of the American people.
Not really something to brag about in this day and age and not something that will give him a victory in the oval office.
